Have you ever noticed how our bodies will force us to slow down…especially at those times when we think we’re too busy to claim any rest for ourselves?

Too often, it’s our dis-ease, our pain, our suffering that inspires us to to seek out support. We wait until we’re hurting to ask for help, to rest, to claim time to nurture ourselves.

I totally get it. Life is FULL. And it’s easy to say that we’re too busy to find time for self loving care. Sometimes it takes a breakdown to get me to finally slow down enough to claim time for what I need to feel nourished and supported.

tI doesn’t have to be this way…for me or for you.

The thing is, when we continually put off the things that matter most to us, the nurturing practices that keep us feeling vibrant, the nourishing choices that keep us healthy, we end up feeling depleted, overwhelmed and disconnected.

We can make a different choice for ourselves.

We are worthy and deserving of better than being last in line for the care and time and energy we so freely give to the people we love. We can intentionally design a life where we hold space for self loving care, where we give ourselves permission to rest and restore…before our bodies demand it with sickness or dis-ease.

If you’ve maybe been forgetting to give yourself the self loving care you need and deserve, it’s okay. You can make a change right now.

It doesn’t have to be complex or complicated. What if you could start small and integrate even one simple act of self loving care into your daily schedule?

Imagine what could shift if you decided your well being is valuable enough to claim this for yourself.

Start by reflecting on activities or practices that make you feel good.

Maybe it’s meeting up for a walk with a friend. Maybe it’s taking a few moments to gaze at the sky and listen to the birds singing in the morning. Maybe it’s giving yourself time to write out a list of what you’re appreciating. Maybe it’s soaking in a hot candlelit bath once a week. Maybe it’s finding yummy organic recipes to prepare for yourself or drinking more water throughout the day. Maybe it’s meditating for five, ten or fifteen minutes each day before you check your email. Maybe it’s giving yourself a moment to take a breath in between each task you complete. Maybe it’s taking a dance break in the middle of your day for no reason other than that it feels good to move.

Once you brainstorm activities that feel good to you, open your calendar and schedule at least one activity for each day of the next week.

Whatever you choose, let it be enough. Know that everything is progress and even five minutes of intentionally caring for YOU will make a difference.

At the end of the week, check in with yourself and notice how you feel.

How does scheduling and prioritizing time for you shift your energy?

Let self loving care be the foundation of your happy life…your body, mind, spirit (and family and friends!) will thank you.
Love & Peace,

Denise
