First, let me invite you to take a moment to pause and appreciate. Yourself, your journey, your body, your experience.
Give yourself the gift of placing your hand on your heart and witnessing the rhythm of you. Breathe deeply into your lungs and feel the depth of life moving through you. Exhale completely all that you wish to release as you create space for what you want to welcome.
Whatever your new year traditions and rituals are, I hope you are giving yourself the grace of honoring where you are before you race forward into what you want to create next.
It can be too easy to focus on everything that is wrong with ourselves, our lives, our work, our bodies and we sometimes lose sight of everything that is going right.
Taking the time to slow down and notice, acknowledge, and appreciate all the good can shift so much. We begin to see the beauty all around us, to receive the luxury of being alive right here and now.
If you are reading this, it likely means you have access to technology, to the inter webs and to electricity. That likely means you also have a home, warm clothes, a refrigerator with food to eat, fresh water to drink and even hot running water for a shower (such a gift!). Sometimes reflecting on these luxuries can help us remember how fortunate we are.
And as we plan out the next steps of where we want to be, remembering that we are on a solid foundation of enoughness already can help support the journey.
Whether you want to build a habit of eating more nourishing foods or integrating movement and nature time into your daily experience or thinking more loving thoughts about yourself, starting from a place of enoughness feels way more aligned than thinking you’re in a place of lack.
Abundance begins with our mindset, with how we perceive, how we think, and the stories we tell ourselves.
So as you design and build the life you’re dreaming of, be sure you’re honoring and appreciating the beauty of the life you are already living.
As you strengthen and nourish the body you get to live in for this life, be sure you are honoring and appreciating her strength and beauty as she is right here and now.
Wherever we are on this journey, there is always reason to celebrate and always room for growth. Explore how you can hold space for feeling enough as you are becoming ever more who you are.
Go gently, friends. Be gracious and loving in your thoughts, words and deeds.
