Reflecting on the gift of my first daughter’s life tonight as I ponder how we’ve already arrived at the precipice of her 7th birthday. Tomorrow at 2:27 pm marks the seventh anniversary of the first moment I held our little girl in my arms. I recall the immense relief for her healthy birth, the overwhelming gratitude for her precious life, and the indescribable flow of love that flooded me as she nuzzled at my breast, contentedly finding her way in her new home.
Every day since that December 3rd seven years ago, I give thanks for being her mommy.
For being the one who has the privilege of nurturing her.
For being the one who enjoys the gift of her presence.
For being me.
For loving her.
Words are ever insufficient to express the depths of my emotions, the truth of my heart, the joy of being her Mommy.
Juliana.
How I love you so.
Your brown eyes reflect the light that emanates from within you,
Your tender smile reveals the joy in your life,
Your kind hearted ways fill the world with love.
I give thanks for the gift of our daughter in our life, in our world.
And I give thanks for the countless daughters and mothers whose love overflows and expands,
filling the universe with positivity,
uplifting us all.
Let us give thanks for the richness of the miracle of BIRTH
…and the abundance of the gift of LIFE.
