As we enjoy this shift into the season of stillness, let us remember the ways in which we can remain connected to the flow of the year and to our own vibrant wellness. During the quiet after the holiday season, we have the opportunity (as we always really do) to slow down, enjoy the reprieve and cultivate gratitude for just being.
In the midst of these times of retreating into our sanctuaries, whether our own homes or those of our dear ones, we are faced with the possibility of sharing not only space, but also sickness. Though we cannot deny the reality that germs are part of this beautiful world, there are certainly many ways in which we can provide a little extra support to ourselves and our loved ones that will enable us to move more easily and healthily through these coming months.
I have found that one of the most important ways in which we can support our wellness is to nurture and love ourselves. Whatever this looks like for you, now is perhaps the most critical time to maintain or create a practice of self care. One of my favorite ways to nurture myself is allowing enough time for rest, relaxation and solitude. I give myself permission to sleep enough for my body, to slow down and be still when I need it, to indulge in the simple luxury of a hot bath, and to sink happily into child’s pose when I want to quiet my mind. If we care for ourselves, we give our bodies and minds the endurance to stay strong under any conditions, including being around people who may be under the weather.
Stay tuned for more wellness wisdom…til then, what simple techniques could you incorporate into your daily rituals to invest in your wellness?

It’s always refreshing when we are reminded to slow down once in a while is OKAY!!! With the holidays passing and normalcy discovering itself once again, it’s the perfect time to reflect. I love all your direction for a healthier self, especially the idea of REST. With a hectic schedule I personally have to remind myself to not only eat regularly but to nourish my body with food that will build a happy and healthy me. I also am a firm believer in a good massage from time to time for some ultra relaxation : ) Thank you for the positive insight and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Such wise words…thank you for reflecting and sharing! I absolutely agree that massage is an incredibly healing practice and likely more an essential part of our wellness routine rather than just a luxury…here’s to hoping that the Western medical community (and insurance companies!) will embrace the healing power of touch and therapeutic massage very soon. Happy New Year to you, too… Thank you for being here! 🙂

Thank you for this! I’ve been running around getting ragged and needing a break from my “break”. I just stopped right now to remind myself that the Universe will provide for me and I don’t need to control everything and make everything just right for everyone.
